I have an '09 3500HD CC DRW 8' bed and got the Advance Cover ( http://advancecover.com/ ). It works well. Originally I wanted the fold-a-cover but was told it would not fit the DRW 8' bed.

Hope this helps.

I think it is different. The front and rear of the bed curve inward on the dually.

If you want a soft type cover, I wholeheartedly suggest that you look at the Access cover. I have used them on a few trucks and have had great durability from the covers in this Florida sun. By their design, they never become hard to close and they have the ribs attached to the cover and never look like a Conastoga wagon when closed. Another benefit is that you never have to fool around with the rear bar when you want to put something large in the bed. No, I don't sell them! But I sure like them.

Check the web site if the brand you want and it should tell you which model you need. I have an ExtangRT.

I had an ARE fiberglass on my last truck,,, but the one for this truck would be like $1,500 !!!!!

Just been looking for other options.

Security is a concern, I leave the truck at the boat launch during some weekend overnights.

Just dont want to make it to easy for thieves !!!!

I ran an extra sensor to my last trucks alarm on the lid and tailgate to.

Go with Retrax you'll be glad that you did, they aren't cheap but they're well worth it.

My guess is that for security, the Roll N Lock is probably your best bet. You don't have a sig, but let me tell you, if you have a Dually, consider having it installed. You might have noticed my other post; the installation instructions from Roll N Lock for the Dually is *all wrong*, with stickers all over the pages saying "skip this step", "do this before next step", etc, and they STILL are *all wrong*! lol. I was so mad I returned mine. But a lot of folks have them installed by dealers who install them everyday and don't even need the directions, and it does seem to be a secure system, probably more so than the Retrax.

They all have their pluses and minuses. Good luck now.

I like the Extang Solid Fold, less moving parts = less problems....

I put on the pace edwards retractable cover and I like it. Spendy! But easy to cover and lock bed up or leave open to pull 5er or haul a load and still stong.

Hmm... I'm not certain of this, but it seems that I read that it doesn't fit our dually long beds.

I like the Gaylord lid, there sleek looking, there strong enough to walk on.I had to order a new one, it has a latch system that latches shut, I found out the hard way ,At my boat slip a storm came up and grabbed the closed cover riped it off the hinges hit the hood ,hit the guard rail on the slip walk way, flew up and hit a power line burning the carpet on the bottom hits the rocks then in the water and then the wind blew it right behind my slip. hey that do float:rolleyes:

I have an Access Roll-up Cover on my 2009 Silverado 3500. It's the first of the type I have had. All previous ones were the snap on type, but this one is great. It is tight, easily rolled up for bed access, and seemingly so far waterproof. The side rails mount just inside the bed and hold the sides of the cover with hook and loop (Velcro).

A Hard top cover will just add more weight to your truck. And I like my soft top tonno,Its nice to have.

I've yet to see a folding, rollup, or soft tonneau cover that was really "secure." Like a car trunk or something like that! :)

I have seen some "hard" covers that looked pretty stout, but were also very expensive.

IMO "security" comes mostly from the "out of sight, out of mind" factor. My last truck had a locking "roll top" cover that could be fairly easily defeated by a motivated male and a big screwdriver. It was adequate to keep out a kid looking for a "quick score" but would just slow down, slightly, a professional thief. But as long they didn't know what was under the cover I had some protection. ;)

Still, since roving "kids" (of any age) are likely the most common threat then a good quality locking cover will give some peace of mind.

Exactally !!! soft tonneus allow to still simply just open the tailgate,,,, my old ARE had a lip that covered the top of the tailgate,,,,, I also ran another switch to my alarm that if you pried it open the alarm would go off.

Not that anyone pays any attention to those anyway,,,, but still !!!!
