The time is near, (the bottom of the wear markers...)
Ive been through this before...do I want a 265 70 R16, or a 265 75 R16? Am i correct to assume the latter is a slightly taller tire, but the same with?
Also, I need at least the same weight rating that came on the stock E rated 245's, so a bigger tire that is a D rated tire can give me the same weight rating as the stockers?
Thanks

You mean the 75's are a full inch taller than the 70's? Wow.

265/75/16's in E rated for 3415lbs, in D rated for 3000lbs or 42lbs less than the stock 245 E's (3042).
265/70/16 in D (not avail in E) rated for 2835lbs.
235/85/16 in E rated for 3042 lbs (same as 245's and will fit on PYO's)
245's are approx 30.44 in tall
265/70 are approx 30.60 in tall
265/75 are approx 31.63 in tall
235/85 are approx 31.65 in tall
B = 4 ply tire
C = 6 ply tire
D = 8 ply tire
E = 10 ply tire
Example Tire Size: 255/50R17 100V or 255/50VR17
The first number is the overall width of the tire in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall. To convert to inches, divide by 25.4. In the example above, the width is 255mm or 10.04".
Overall Width: 255 [mm] / 25.4 [mm per inch] = 10.04 inches wide
The second number is the aspect ratio. This is a ratio of sidewall height to width. In the example above, the tire is 255 mm or 10.04" wide, multiply that by the aspect ratio to find the height of one sidewall. In this case:
Section Height (Sidewall Height): 10.04" x 50% = 5.02" high
The last number is the diameter of the wheel in inches. To figure the overall diameter of a tire, take the sidewall height and multiply by 2, (remember that the diameter is made up of 2 sidewalls, the one above the wheel, and the one below the wheel) and add the diameter of the wheel to get your answer.
Overall Diameter: (5.02" x 2) + 17" = 27.04" tall

Looks like Jimmy is a new moderateur.............
Taking new pleasure in the "edit" button that now so nicely appears under all posters replies................

Does this mean that this will end up like the other diesel site?
I wonder if this will be deleted for off topic reply.
