There is coolant coming from the backside of the engine block above or around the transmission. I am not sure where it is comeing from but i am thinking a freeze plug but at the same time i am hoping its not.

It is an LLY truck so the Turbo is also water cooled do you think a fitting or a seal came loose, or is it what i am thinking and a freeze plug pushed out(which i doubt cause i have all coolant and no water of course thats mnot the best mixture but oh well also it hasnt gotten cold enough to freeze and push it out) or it just came loose and was pushed out by the coolant flow.

Any and all advice will be appreciated as i have never delt with this type of problem before and i could use all the help i can get. I would like to purchase one of those chilton manuals but i have to order it cause noone carries one for that particular year and truck. PLEASE help i need the truck up and running ASAP as for now its my daily driver.

Where i bought the truck from was Throughbread nissan in Tucson and i am not sure if they have delt with GM vehicles before but if so their techs are idiots. After i had the truck for a while i noticed it had the GREEN coolant and not the Dex-Cool. When i noticed that i tried to flush what i could from the system but some was still in there, do yall think a seal could have corroded and thats my problem but what all back there or in that area would use a seal and is there anything but the turbo that is also water cooled?

Also i have 102k on the clock so i just missed out on the 100k waranty on the dmax from GM so thats out of the question and if its possible i will be doing this work myself to fix it as i choose not to get raped by someone who charges to much or take it to someone who doesnt know what their doing and they jack something else up. If i have to take it somewhere i will but i could also use suggestions on that as to where is the best price for the best work kind of thing.

I would check the EGR cooler lines (they crack)

Would that still matter if i have it blocked, unpluged and turned off in the system.

unless you have by-passed it the coolant still travels through it. Its a small alluminum pipe with a bolt tab welded close to the end. The vibration of the motor causes them to crack next to the welded tab.

mine was dripping a little around the same spot as you are saying and it was a drain screw on the back of the turbo, might check it out, I have no idea where it is, had the shop do it while getting head gaskets replaced.

Hey yall again thanks for the inpout and ideas, sorry it has taken so long to get back to this thread.

It was a small coolant line connected to the turbo on the driver side. The line had dry rotted and was cracked and spraying coolant when it got hot. Either way i checked both sides and the pass. side was good so i only had to replace the driver side.
