I have a 2005 Duramax (LLY) with predator, straight-piped exhaust(no cat/muffler) with egr plate and finger-stick, and mac cold air intake, i run the predator on the 85 hp setting and what seems wierd is while every upgrade has help the turbo whistle and spool up time i now seem to be really doggy from initial take off without power braking, the truck only has 2000 miles on it, is there any upgrades that im missing that might help me get a better low end or 1st gear take off without having to power brake ??

Performance off-idle requires you do two things, climb RPM and develop boost. It's never going to be like a gasser in that aspect. Diesels rev slowly, and turbos take time to spool up. In theory, our VVT (variable turbo) should be able to spool quicker than an LB7. The VVT is controllable by the tuner.

Perhaps another tune might improve things. Experiment with the other power levels to see if they might control the turbo differently.

yeah, mine does this as well, but the Edge has a fix for it. its called Low Boost Fueling and it really helps with the take off. I don't have it set for that as I like the slow take off and build, then when it shifts I break loose and I am gone!!
