I have a 2005 Duramax (LLY) Predator Tuner on (85HP) straight-piped exhaust, and MAC Cold Air Intake, EGR Blocker Plate and Finger-Stick, Question is while all the upgrades have given me quicker turbo spool up, I now seem really really doggy on initial 1st gear take off, does o.k. from a roll, I wanted to know if there was anything i could do for normal driving conditions to eliminate some of this lag or poor acceleration, I run 305-55-20 tires, would changing gears to 4.10's benefit me at all? I mean the take off now feels worse than before the exhaust and cold air upgrades. truck only has 2000 miles on it and I would appreciate any help... thanks pcwizard.

You have effectively reduced you gear ratio to a 3.42...not even counting the extra weight, rolling resistance, and the increased air under the truck at highway speeds. Going with a set of 4.10s will have you a bit over geared. So it would be up to you---increased cruising rpms being worth the extra bottom end grunt and all...

You could get more out of your power with a tranny and converter upgrade.

Besides, a little boost launch will go a long way, but...then again doing that--doggin' it with a 85hp program might again put you in the market for a tranny upgrade.
