:help: I have a 1999 Dodge Diesel 3500 4X4 Manual Transmission and within the last week I have been having problems starting it. If I try to start it as soon as it warms up and the lights go off it will turn over 4-5 times before actually starting. I tried letting it sit longer and this has helped until yesterday. After driving on the highway for an hour and a half I pulled over at a gas station and when I was ready to leave I turned the key on and let it sit for about 45 seconds before starting and this time it turned over probably 10-15 times before actually starting. I was told my glow plugs were going out but then I talked to someone at the dealership :badidea: and they said my dodge does not have glow plugs, but wouldn't tell me what it has and that I would need to bring it in to them. Someone else said it might not be getting enough fuel. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on what I could try or woudl I be better off to taking it in to the dealership?

Your truck has a heater grid. I'm guessing its your injector pump. When you get it replaced buy a fuel pressure guage you will beable to watch your fuel pressure and beable to tell when your lift pump dies and you can replace it before you hurt your injector pump.

obviously check your fuel filter first before you do any of that. could save some money. I would definatly say fuel problem though if you have the same problem after it is already warm. It wouldnt be a glow plug prob.:)
