I read somewhere on this forum about an A/C update for any trucks built before June 2004. Mine was built June 4. My A/C doesn't get very cold and could use it. Could anyone know if it is possible to get this update from a GM dealer without paying anything? My dealer is kinda in the boonies and doesn't keep up much - so, I doubt they even know anything about it.

GM did a parts switch of the accumulator during the 2004 production run. It was right around June 1st, 2004. Since the manufactured date of yours is so close, it may have the old model. The TSB posted by BIGMoe describes the change.
The old and new accumulators look different. You should be able to stop by a Chevy or GMC dealer and look at the accumulator on a new 2005 Duramax truck. If it looks the same as yours, then you already have the new version. If different, then point out the TSB to your servicing dealer and ask for the upgrade.
