When shifting into drive or reverse there is a clunk in the transfer case. Would this be pump rub?

It could be a u-joint gone bad or perhaps the bushing in the tailshaft housing is worn out. Does the rear seal leak any oil?

U-joints are good and doesn't leak fluid. Had it up on a hoist and had someone shift it into drive and reverse. the clunking was internal.

If there is no sign of oil leaking anywhere on the t-case then I would bet no you are not having pump rup issues. Put the truck on the lift, put the tires just of the ground, then put truck in neutral. Crawl under there and see if you can wiggle the driveshaft yoke where it enters the t-case. If it does wiggle there, I bet your bushing is bad.
