: dmax died
joe496chevy 05-13-2005, 06:48 PM I just got towed into the garage. My dmax was going down the road 70mph and started knocking very load and lost a ton of power. I slowed down and pulled the truck and trailer to the side of the road. Ran a scan with the power pup got a 0202, 2149 codes. What are they can I get this thing going? I don't want to wait all weekend to get back on the road.
lakingslayer 05-13-2005, 10:56 PM P0202 is injector #2 drive fault. P2149 sets when injector 2, 3, 5 or 8 DTC is set. When a fuel injector circuit condition is detected by the FICM all of the fuel injectors on the affected injector supply voltage circuit will be disabled.
GMC2500HD 05-14-2005, 05:48 PM Was curious if you were able to get your truck in and find out what was going on? Keep us posted and let us know. I am curious as to what was happening with it. Good luck
JhnZ71 05-14-2005, 09:31 PM Sounds like you cooked a few injectors... remove the J/A and take it to the dealer
joe496chevy 05-14-2005, 11:52 PM took it to the dealer..... They won't look at it until monday. That SUCKS! I figured out why I drive a crew cab instead of this piece of sh** cavalier.
I have also been told by one parts manager that he has 3 sets of injectors back ordered right now......I hope this doesn't lay me up for weeks. Just curious but does anyone know a dealer that stocks injectors just in case?
shelden27 05-15-2005, 08:48 AM injectors are on restriction from gm can only be order on case by case situation.
joe496chevy 05-15-2005, 11:51 PM would my case be one I hope???
Also do any of you know which chevy garage in the Binghamton NY area is the best at working on diesels..... I don't want some tard guessing on my baby!
the dealers I know of....
1. Royal Chevy... sayre, pa
2. mathews chevy.... Owego, NY (where I bought the truck and got my loaner car)
3. ken wilson chevy .... vestal, NY
4. botnick chevy ... binghamton, ny
5. gault chevy... endicott, ny
joe496chevy 05-17-2005, 10:05 PM Well truck has been sent to ken wilson chevy..... they are the only one with a diesel guy.
He confirmed it is #2 injector is bad..... Just waiting for parts. The only thing is the injectors are on back order I guess. Anyone know where some injectors are? I only need one.
JFRogers 05-18-2005, 10:29 PM Call monroe truck in flint mich. they converted a **** load of Swan trucks to propane. I have seen load of them laying around, whole sets still together

joe496chevy 05-26-2005, 12:01 AM Ok so I finally got my truck back.... Now they say it wasn't the injector, but was the main wiring harness.... not putting power to the #2 injector.
Well now the truck appears to be running correctly again..... but new issues came up. Now on a cold start the glow plug light will not go out? So I leave it on for 10 seconds or so.....got a service engine light again now. I will scan tomarrow with more details.
All I can say is its a good thing I had 3 good duramaxs before this one...... cause I would never buy a GM again if this was my only experience with them. Dealers selling diesel trucks and no mechanic to fix them correctly. This just sucks..... I guess I am just frustrated and PISSED OFF.
BagdHoe 05-26-2005, 03:54 PM I had the same problem on my 04.5 4,000 miles ago. Extended warranty company paid for the main wiring harness to be replaced. 4,000 miles later same problem and it has been at the dealership for 1 week now. They replaced injector #7 and it didn't fix the problem. Now the dealership said GM is wanting to replace the Injector module. So, now waiting on that part to come in and see if it fixes the problem. Hopefully this doesn't keep happening every 4,000 miles.
Has anyone had the same problem after replacing the main wiring harness?
joe496chevy 05-26-2005, 10:23 PM bagdhoe.... what do you have for total mileage???
Well Now I finally got mine fixed I think..... I had a glow plug code..... did some checking and they didn't plug in the glow plug module completely. Once it snapped into place it seems to be fine.
toytechmark 05-27-2005, 09:20 AM Make sure they have flashed the PCM with the latest update program for the injectors, my 2004 LLY did the same thing a couple of times before I got the PCM flashed.
BagdHoe 05-27-2005, 12:35 PM Mileage is 43,000
They replaced the wiring harness last time. Truck has been at the dealership for a week now. They replaced the #7 injector per GM (they said) and that didn't fix the problem. Now they are going to replace the injector module and see if that fixes the problem. It'll be several days before the injector module comes in.
toytechmark,
My LLY had the re-flash done several months ago. Is there a new one out? Or are you talking about the main re-flash for the LLY that is talked about on here?
BagdHoe 06-03-2005, 02:43 PM Can any one help with this?
Truck as been in dealership 2 weeks now. Replaced so far is the engine wiring harness, # 7 injector, and the injector module and it still has the same problem. Dealership said they are calling GM again to see what they want to do next. This problem is getting really old on my part and I miss my truck!
:help:
Mine went in Monday for an engine/injector harness also. Should have it back today, I hope. The chevy malibu loaner sucks. Seems like we have lots of harness/injector issues with these new trucks.
