I was going to get Some Amsoil synthetic ATF, but my trans guy had advised against it due to it being a used unit with miles. . .

he claims once an auto trans get's about 10years with 100K miles on it and its been ran its whole life the basic fluid, switch to a high end ATF can and has cause early trans failures.

My truck is a 95' it has almost 135k miles on it and the next trans service will be due by spring. according to the old owners paper its been serviced every 30-35k miles it was last done at 118K.

Would a synthetic ATF such as AMSOIL be a bad idea ?

should i just keeo running the mobile dino ATF its been getting ?

I would simply run the dextron fluid the manufacture recommends for your truck. I have been in this business too long to know. Change your fluid on a regular basis. Flush your fluid manually meaning fill to capacity, run and drain, repeat.
