right now i have the bullydog powerpup on my 06 lbz. i was thinking about going ppe and was wondering if anyone else went from bully to ppe and how they liked it. i own a farm and do a lot of gooseneck towing of tractors(JD 7230,7410)for example.don't worry the country boys know what those are. what ppe should i go with standard,hot,+2 i'm confused

I say go with PPE standard if your just going to tow! Then later down the road if you want to get more power you can upgrade your standard to higher tunes via, PPE website or sending it in! Also look into a Transgo Jr. shift kit! It is a must! I love it for towing, firmer shifts, firmer down shifts quick and firm! The standard only has up to so much power, there is an economy one, then a hot version, then a hot+2 they are all just different power levels! Hot+2 has the most! Just start out with an economy if al your going to do is tow!

The Hot has 10 levels on a LB7, all the way up to 425 crank hp. Level 1 is economy, level 2 is tow, level 3 - 4 are daily driver tunes and above are race only tunes for guys with built trans and lift pumps. The Hot+2 ET is good for mid 12 sec. runs with the proper trans and suspension mods.

Might as well get the hot 2 if you have the cash. It will be worth it in the long run.

i went from a Bullydog PMT with the Crazy Larry to a PPE Hot+2, and wow, a world of difference. now however im going for EFI Live... dont get me wrong, the PPE is an outstanding unit, i just want to create my own tunes! the PPE on level 2 for towing is a great setup. plenty of power to move what you need!

the PPE standard has 4 levels. on level 4 with an exhaust and modified airbox, a LBZ duramax will put down around 425 hp and 825 lb-ft on a dyno.
