: Stacked times question
Cougar281 05-13-2005, 09:29 AM What kind of 1/4 times could be run with a 4x4 boosted launch with a Predator tune @ 120/240 and an Edge Juice/Attitude on 125/325 for about 555/1155 at the crank?
I'm basing those numbers off the "Published" numbers for the LLY, plus what I could find on the internet about the Juice/Predator.
Obviously, for that power, I'd need a SC-IV or V and SD's tie rod sleeves/centerlink.
BMDMAX 05-13-2005, 09:51 AM The numbers don't add up that way when stacking. Plus the power numbers for the tuners are RWHP that you added to FWHP. That stack, if you could get it to perform at all would net low 400's at the wheels and get you a low 14 1/4 mile pass.
There are better options than stacking out there, I ran a 13.8@99 last time out in my LLY on a single tune in 2WD.

Learn something new every day.
What tune did you use to run the 13.8? Was it just a tune, or where you running N2O also? I'd like to get at least into the 13's some day.
BMDMAX 05-13-2005, 10:08 AM I don't have nitrous on the LLY. I have gotten the truck in the 13's on fuel only with two different tunes, the PPE and with the Juice.
No lift pump either so there may be more there yet too.
McRat 05-13-2005, 10:55 AM While I haven't tried the new revision of the Edge, the first one didn't do that well stacked.
The VA is the best "stacker" I've tested yet. Expect it to add about 40rwhp on kill with the Predator.
socal LLy 05-13-2005, 05:03 PM I did 445rwhp on the dyno stock trans with bully dog power pup on 95hp and banks six gun on level 4 without the speedloader

You got in the 13's with just a Juice?? what were your times?
Pure Diesel 05-14-2005, 02:19 AM From what I've been told, and good sources too, you get half of what a programmer says it is when you stack. I'm running the Hyper III @90 and the Edge/*** on 3 and the best i can do is 14.94 @ 87.259 w/1.984 60' @ LACR. I then ran with Edge in 5 and Hyper on 90 and I ran a 15.304 @ 86.918 w/ 2.285 60'. There is to much power trying to get to the rear wheels and the tranny is not letting it get there. You can totally feel the truck slow down when it shifts from 4th to 5th gear. I have the Edge on a complete de-fuel, also.
BMDMAX 05-14-2005, 10:30 AM It is in my sig for the LLY...
turbo lcc 05-14-2005, 07:02 PM So the LLY: 440HP & 840 TQ 13.83@99.2 was with the EDGE?
McRat 05-14-2005, 07:44 PM Things to consider:
Some stacks burst. While they might do OK on the dyno, you'll run terrible ET's if you burst.
Harness boxes on LLY's maintain the "soft" programmed HP in 1st and 5th. Say the harness box increases power 50% from what the ECM commands, the 1st gear ECM signal will be less as will 5th.
Results vary wildly. Logic goes out the window. Sometimes a lesser tune makes more power.
Stacks using two timing boosters or two fuel rail pressure boosters will run like crap in general.
The best solution is a single ECM tune. A harness box will retain the speed limiter, and can't fix the 1st and 5th issue with the stock tune. But for now the fastest LLY setup is a stack.
Wolford 05-15-2005, 01:12 PM What tune or stack would I have to run to blow smoke down the entire track(1/4 mile).
I know McRat knows something.......after all he is our LLY test dummy):h
McRat 05-15-2005, 01:27 PM The PPE+VA smokes pretty good. Set both to kill.
BAD NEWS: The next morning when I started the truck it put about 5lbs of Carbon Black soot in a pile on the driveway. The wind blew a good portion into the cab while the kids were getting in the truck. Seen Mary Poppins? Yup, chimmey sweep kinda stuff. I'll post pics soon.
BMDMAX 05-15-2005, 03:22 PM Five Pounds?
McRat 05-15-2005, 03:33 PM Five Pounds?
Slight exaggeration. It was a pile 2" deep, and 18" around. Never seen anything like it before. Seriously about a 1/2 gallon of powder.
I took a pic after the wind blew most of it away, and it was still a big pile.
This is after the wind blew most of it away
Wolford 05-15-2005, 05:01 PM Good deal...Thanks for the info. Will be getting the Suncoast stage IV within the next few weeks so I am ready for a serious tune.
BMDMAX 05-15-2005, 06:46 PM That is weird. I don't even know where that would collect in the system and then dump out....
bartman 05-15-2005, 06:59 PM McRat, is your EGR blocked? If not, do you think that much soot could build up in the sleeve and the release when it was started again the next morning when the valve opened? I've wondered, myself, if those who have not blocked their EGR's, but have unplugged them, if there would be a large build-up of soot-:t in the EGR sleeve. Am I way off here?
McRat 05-15-2005, 09:06 PM Yes, EGR blocked. Do about 25 1/4mi passes with big tunes, then start up your truck and watch. My guess is you will see the same.
Cougar281 05-16-2005, 11:30 PM How will a Juice stack with a predator on level 1?
