just wondering what a safe tune for a lbz stock tranny is, wanting to go at least 100hp. is there any harm in turning off the rev and speed limiter?

Do not turn off the rev limiter, you may raise it to a higher level but please use the rev limit.

100HP is pushing it. Just watch WOT on higher gear up and down shifts. Still 100HP is gonna wear it out quicker over time. Even 50HP will but normally not as quick. Congrats getting EFILive.

Moved to EFILive Tuning Software.

100hp...??? Get a TransGo Jr in the neara future, that'll help. Like stated above, stay off WOT 4->5 and 5->6 shifts.

After reading your sig ('03 LB7), you might want to lower that speed limiter rather then raise it. ;) J/K

Get a TransGo Jr in the neara future, that'll help. Doesn't the LB7 transgo Jr require the trans to be dropped out of the truck for an install? Doesn't make much sense to go through all that trouble just for a mild HP upgrade. If funds are available, go for a Merchant trans upgrade at that point IMO.

Blitz636, what is a safe rev limiter setting for an LB7 on the street?

Why are you guys worried about raising the rev limit? Are you planning on raising your shift points too? I dont understand.

Opps, that 03 LB7 comment got me thinking this thread was dealing with his LB7 truck.

Manual shift mode would allow the truck to bounce off the limiter, right? I've never tried it. That's my guess on the rev limiter change.

LBZ truck;)

I'm pretty sure the TAP shift will still shift if you give it enough RPM, unless you play with the {D5040 - D5045} in the TCM; not sure though.

Slakr, what's an LBZ sound like when it's on a 3,800+RPM limiter;):D:eek:

It sounds like it's time to find someone that can adjust the TCM properly:rolleyes:

TCM tuning was fine:p:, if you'd've kept your foot in it;). Takes more then 40% throttle and 3200RPMs to keep a sled pulling TCM tune happy.

...It was a learning experience...:D

Sorry for the Off Topic... Slakr started it ;)

Got it in the mail yesterday and tuned my truck lastnight! Turned the rev limiter to like 4500 and it sounds so mean, kinday worried about the tranny holdin up though, just tryin to take it easy on the shifts! Thanks for the posts guys.
