I need a set for the 2005 truck as the wife is not happy with the step in height. If she is not happy then I better get a set of the damn things. ;)

Anybody know a good source for the Westin Oval side steps in chrome for the crew cab? Any vendors here carry them? I found several places on-line but I don't have a good feel for those suppliers.

Thanks,
BMDMAX

Are you talking about the chrome plated aluminum ones?

I put a set on a customers truck less then a year ago and they have already been replaced. I am sure it won't be an issue for you but because he drives a lot of gravel and they use a lot of salt in the winter, all the chrome peeled off of the bars. I don't think the chrome adheres to aluminum all that well.

They sure do look sharp when all the chrome is on them though!

Yep, the chrome plated aluminum ones. Hopefully they hold up a bit better down South.

I installed the Westin Platinum wheel to wheel bars and had the same thing happen with the chrome peeling off. I took them back to the place I got them and had a new set the next day. They have a lifetime warranty so if it happens again, they will just give me a new set. You do have to return them to the place of purchase, so if you do get them online, you would have to ship them back to the original point of purchase for the warranty. Find a local shop to order them for you so if they do peel, they can easily be replaced with no cost to you.

I bought my Westin Platinum Step Bars from a local Advance Auto Parts Store. I have checked locally and on line and they were actually the best price. Only took a couple of days to get them.

I got my Westin "Ovals" from Summit Racing. I got the black ones instead of the chrome because I don't have much chrome on my truck. The part I really like is they hide the frame from view!! :ro)
