Hello, This forum is COOL:cool: . I washed my truck for the first time the other day, and found, where some jerk had thrown grass clippings into the road and it rained, it threw the grass all over the side of my black truck. These were very hard to get off. I bought some factory mud flaps for the front from GM. They were great, no drilling and fit perfect. I need some for the back now. I like the rubber kind with the stainless steel weights, but think that the molded kind would look good too. Only problem is the fronts have a white bowtie on them and I don't think GM has any molded ones like that for the rear, so the rubber ones would probably look better, since the aftermarket molded ones don't have the bowtie. I found the Husky molded ones on line but they require drilling. I don't want to drill any holes. What are you guys using? Any help would be appreciated.

I used the Husky brand, and like them. They look like they belong on the truck. I went to a sign shop and had Duramax added to them in vynil as well. A more custom look.

053500cc,

I have a brand new set of Husky rear mudflaps that I am not going to use. They are the molded units. Nice set up. I personally like the rear without mudflaps. Out here where I live I do not toss alot of debris. plus I like the rooster tail of water the truck throws when it is raining, keeps people way off my tail. I am going to buy those deals from Cabela's that are temp mud flaps that hang over the hitch area when I am towing my Boat. Let me know if you have any interest. They are still in the original unopened box.

Jeff...I'll tell ya what, you want some really good flaps for your hitch insert to protect the boat? Goto www.mudflaps.com (http://www.mudflaps.com)! They are a little pricey, but very worth it!!!! Much better and more durable than the Road Wings that Cabela's sells. And you can opt for the S/S weights to really make them look nice!

053500cc, I had the husky flaps on my truck. Looked nice but, rubbed the paint off the edge of the fender. Beside they weren't long enough for me. (to many rocks hitting the front of 5er) Made my own set. Pattered off of the husky flaps, only longer and wider. NO HOLES TO DRILL!!

I couldn't find what I wanted in a mudflap without spending $150.00 and made my own. Of course with the running boards and fender flare, I wanted more protection. I still have to make a set for the front.

Road Boss, you said you had the OEM, what are they like? Do you have to drill holes? Maybe I need to check with the local dealer again. I didn't ask him about the rear when I bought the ones for the front. Thanks for all the replies everyone. I just bought the truck and will have it a long time (hopefully) so I don't want to do any drilling because of the rust possibility. Thanks to all.

No drilling on the OEM rear mudflaps! I have them on mine also!

One thing you need to be careful of with the molded flaps in the rear is backing into something. There have been several people who have cracked their fenders from catching the flaps on something. I backed into a snow pile this winter forgeting about the flaps and almost went into heart failure when I realized what I had done. The last thing I need is to be looking for a bed side. Just a thought.

Dave,

Good Point and another reason why I do not want permanent flaps, I just need something when I tow.

CrazyDaze: I have seen those and theyare on my list for consideration..Have to do something in the next month. Heading to Shasta House boating. Have a 5 hour drive with Boat in tow.

At any given time, one or more items may not be featured on the site. But contact them, ask for Melissa, they will get back to you with the info. Very helpful people there, really no end to getting any product at a great price.

I put Kaydenco flaps on my truck when I bought it. They still look like new.

They really have held up well, and add a nice beefy look to my truck. Here is the link (http://www.kaydenco.com)

I was considering those. Do you have the drilless ones? How do they mount to the fender? Thanks for the help.

On one of our trips to Oregon, we visited the "factory" and the owner
sent me to one of his local dealers who installed them for me, since I
didn't have any tools with me.

They were easy to install and required drilling and installing 4 bolts
into the inner rear fender well.

CrazyDaze,
Well after doing probably more lresearch and work than I wanted, I went with the Enkay mudflaps.(www.mudflapa.com) They are nice units. The RoadWings are not adjustable and will hit the ground on a Dually.(I went to Camping World and looked at set and lets say close but if you hit a roll in the road they will skip the ground) The Enkay units are adjustable upwards based on loads. Little bit more $$$ than I wanted to spend but are much more adjustable. My 2 concerns with Husky units and factory deals are they do not hang low enough. I have friends that chip their trailers and boats. These units can be adjust down to keep all of it away.

I should receive them in 2 weeks or so, Will take pictures and add to site when done.

Are you worried about backing up with those long mudflaps? I see on semi that the rear tires will catch it and you will have tire marks on your flaps.

Road Boss....those flaps mount on the the insert that goes into your hitch receiver so they should not be anywhere near long enough to get caught up in the tires during backing.

Road Boss,
I had some intila concerns when I started looking for mudflaps for my truck. I had heard horror stories about the permanent mounted ones and people catching them when backing up and ruining their fenders. Then I wanted the hang down type but they looked a little odd. then I found Road Wings but found they were not adjustable for a 91" wide set up like our trucks. They fit all from 91" to 102" and were not adjustable. then CrazyDaze linked me to mudflaps.com and they were perfect. Again a little pricey but I wanted something that I can take on and off as needed. I am not a big mud Flap guy but want them to protect boat when towing.
