hi and thanks in advance for any advice. I thinking about removing the whole entire egr cooler and egr valve and blocking everything and was just interested to know if anyone has done this and if it is worth doing, it an lbz. Also I have a 4" turbo back straight pipe and whenever I get on it from about 2300 to 2700 rpms sounds like a horrible screech type exhaust note almost sounds like the tires are spinning, anyone else's truck sound like that, it has sounded that way ever since i put the straightpipe on?.

as far as the exhaust note.. i was real confused with it for awhile.. kept thinking i had an exhaust leak tried different styles of clamps and e whole lot of wasted time... i'm pretty sure thats just how it is with that large straightpipe and pressure from turbo.. as far as the EGR not sure cause i havent messed with mine yet.. but need to in near future having a bunch of EGR codes now

My truck screamed but that came from the turbo downpipe. Get a Diamondeye downpipe and the scream will go away. I deleted the egr and haven't looked back since.

That screach is just how the turbo sounds. I have the diamond eye DP and didn't notice any change in sound. Mine sounds like spinning tires when I'm on it and I still have a muffler. I've grown to like the sound :D

thanks for clearing me up on that exhaust note i had been used to the way my lb7 sounded and was very confused why the exhaust sounded that way i half way suspected it was just the different turbo design making it sound so much different im still getting used to how quiet this lbz is compared with my lb7.

All that "screeching" is completely controllable with EFIlive. It just happens to be where the vane position is at those RPM's and load condition.

Moved to Fuel System, Air, Exhaust, & Emissions Upgrades...

sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does it also make the screaching noise when getting off the throttle abruptly? or only under acceleration? just trying to clear up whether or not mine is normal (noticed sound after 5" straight pipe install)
