I don't know if the buttons and green light are supposed to be on all the time, but mine never shut off. You know the ones up on the rear view mirror. On my 2007 Yukon lights are not on when the car is shut off. On the D-max they never shut off. Are they supposed to be on all the time, with the keys out and truck locked????
Oh and by the way new Duramax owner here.

I would think they should turn off. Everything turns off on my '03 as soon as I open the door (assuming the key is out).
You could try disconnecting the batteries overnight and see what that does. That solved a random problem for me a few times (it might have been coincidence, but it's a free solution!). Also, since it's an '09, it should have a warranty, so check with the dealership when you get the time.
Congratulations on the new Duramax, and welcome to The Diesel Place!

The shouldn't be on all the time. Now when you stop and cut the switch off the radio and onstar will stay on for a few minutes or untill you open the door.

Yes I know I need to take in, but the dealer is 1.5 hours away. I am going to continue to mess around with it a while. I have had the truck since April, and it could have been doing it the whole time. I just noticed the other day out in the garage.
Do I have to disconnect both batteries, or will just one positive cable work?
