Anyone have this set up? What do you thinkof it? Is it worth the "Big Bucks"?

I like mine . . . some people here will say that intakes don't make ANY difference, but I think it does. The system looks much cleaner and the filter is a high quality piece. The price is high and I think I'd do a full exhaust first, but if you've already done everything else, go for it. You'll be pleased.

I use it in the Stage II setup and like it....nice loud turbo whistle.

Do a search, there was a test done here a while back, with the PG7 being one of the best (if not the best) of the "high flow" filters.

It did much better than the K&N and came quite close to the paper filter, but I'm operating off memory here...

I have one on my truck. It didn't seem to make a performance difference, but you can really hear the turbo whistle now. I have the lb7 with the alum. tube and it didn't fit for crap. It was a pita to get it on right. I think it was way over priced for how poorly it fit, and the fact I could not tell a performance difference. I've also never ran my truck on a dyno to tell if it acutally helped or not. I do love the way the turbo whistles with it on though so I opted to leave it on.

What about the sensor and the flow gauge on the oem tube. Do they reinstall on the new afe tube?

I've got the Stage II Pro 7 with the aluminium intake tube "02",the filter is a pain in the "a" to take off and put on when cleaning. Cleaned yesterday and the neck on the filter has ripped, will have to probably repleace the high $$ Progaurd 7 at next cleaning.
Plan on checking with the guys at AFE on any mods that can be made, it seems the intake tube is to long, filter box to cramped, poor engineering.??

I put one on about a month ago. Plastic tube. No problem with fit. Everything goes on and off easy enough.

I heard LB7 owners were having a bit of a problem installing it but the LLY's fit pretty good. Again, does the flow gauge and other sensor that is on the OEM tube fit back the afe tube?

Yes, the flow gauge and sensor re-attach to the new AFE box. It comes with a security torx bit for removal/re-installation of the sensor, and a rubber hose for the gauge.

I have been running the stage 2 for over 2 years now. The last two oil tests have shown lower silicate in the oil over the OEM filter. Nice turbo whine! I to have problems removing and installing the filter as well! Last time I removed the filter for cleaning I tore the filter flange a little. I am going to buy a Pro gaurd 7 for a replacement. The next time I take the filter off, I'm going to try to beat the inner finder outboard some so the filter will have more room to come out! Over all a good system I think!
