Can the TCM be put in fast learn without a scan tool? Just completed an ATS triple pack install yesterday and the shifts are really goofy.

I heard that if you put the truck in drive, with tow/haul on, take the truck upto about 60 mph, let off the accelerator, and drop the tranny in 1st gear, then let the truck coast to a few mph.
supposablely this is supposed to put the tranny in fast learn, who know's:rolleyes:
I never noticed a differance.
Did anyone else ever hear about this before? I think I heard it from PPE about 2 years ago?

That's a wives' tale according to the resident experts here. Topic was beat to death a year ago.

Not recommended.

You cannot start fast learn without a scan tool if your TAPs are stuck on the high pressure side.( usually this happens if you had some limps)
