I know the answer to this question is just speculation, but informed and educated guesses would be appreciated. What do you think the price increase will be for the 2006 duramax/six speed allison will be ? Do they have any trends of going about $2k or more per year ? Does that sound correct ? I probably shouldn't worry or freak out about the extra money (when dealing with my dream truck) especially when we are talking about ten's of thousands but I just like planning ahead. I guess I'm a sceptical person. Thanks everyone.

Welcome to the place! You should NOT worry about the price increases. If 2k means the difference of getting or not getting the truck, maybe other things should be looked at. I think the price increases are a percentage. I think the difference between the 04 and the 05 trucks was around $500-750 IIRC... Do you qualify for a supplier discount? That sure helped me out when buying my 05. I bought it kinda early in the model year so the rebates weren't too hot. Good luck.

I do thank you for the repsonse. Even if it went a bunch more I still would buy it. I LOVE these trucks. I am just inquisitive. No I don't have the supplier discount but in about a year when I do plan on buying I will get in touch with one of the helpful people on this site for that. Also can one order a Pick-up late in the year I have seen that people are trying to order in june-ish for the 06 does that mean they will stop making them early in the year. For example, Could I order the 2006 in August 2006 ? Or does the factory stop ? I so when do they stop production on current year trucks ? Thanks again

You will be ordering an 07 if you wait until Aug 06 to order your truck. The factory stops sometime in late May or in June or July to "re-tool" and start punching out 07's. You can ask your dealer when they will stop taking orders for the 05's just to get a good idea. You can order the truck up until the cut-off date set by GM and I believe the date will be posted here in advance.

Also, if you order your truck, they may do a search for one CLOSE to what you are wanting to order to see if it is local. If your order spec is too basic, they may find it. Be ready for the posibility. I ordered my 05 in mid Sept and they tried to find one like it, but failed. :cool:
