I'm looking at a 2002 GMC 2500HD ext. cab 4x4 w/ duramax and allison. Think it has SLT package, power everything, leather. Has 85k mi. on it. Carfax came up clean. I had the VIN info pulled up on this site in case you care to look. I drove it and everything seemed fine except for moderate pulling to the right. Tires probably only good for another 10k with some irregular wear on fronts. I made an offer today of $20500 out the door and they didn't go for it. Said they could do it for $21,000 plus tax, tag, and title which works out to a little over $22,600. Is that a deal or should I let it sit a few days or a week and try to offer less? Feel free to share your used truck buying experience (price out the door, truck configuration, etc.) for reference.
thanks

you are only 10% apart for the total drive out difference. I say split it with them and see if they will go for it. Tell them you are going to have to spend $650 or so for a new set of tires and that may help you. I think that is a fair price for that truck. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than a new one. I only owe $10,000 on my 2001 and when it is paid off, I am going to drive it at least another 5 years and then probably rebuild it. I bought it new, but the price of these trucks has really gotten out of site. Good luck to you.

i got my 02 with 74,000 miles for 25000 and mine is LS (no leather). yours sounds about right to me and a good deal at 21000 since it has more miles than mine had.

I bought a LS 02 last July for 27,000. But it only had 16,000 miles on it.
I got an identical truck to the one you're looking at, '02 2500HD SLT but it had 72,000 miles on it. I got them to put on a new set of tires, a spray in bedliner and remounted my fifth wheel hitch and gave $22,000 for it last March. I think I got a good deal and this truck is GREAT!!
