Had a Sierra 1500 SLT 6.2L on order for 20 months(edit: i just realized it said months, i meant weeks), finally told them to get bent and went and bought my dream truck.

No one can give me an answer on it, and my email to GM went unanswered. I actually wasn't sure i wanted a GM after that. It's exactly how they are losing customers.

So far at 400mi I'm getting 18-19mpg babying it, but i want to see 20. I'm thinking about a drop in filter and maybe Banks econo tune. I'll have to start searching the forums for info.

p.s. The power is ridiculous!!

Getting mileage out of air filter maybe. Look at S&B intake. Or do the PPE air box mod. Stock air box good for 500HP off the fly. Stay away from Oiled type air filters. They can kill the MAF and over time will thin out with all the air these engines pull in.

Wait until you stick a 14k trailer behind it....these things would pull a house from its foundations.

As regards GM customer service, I fully agree. I love my truck but hate GM's customer service. They DO NOT back their customers.

If you put a tuner in a new truck..kiss your warranty goodbye...

unless you don't care..you have enough power as it is...put the trailer in behind there first....you will find it just fine!

This site is going to cost me a lot more money. Only 400mi on it and i'm trying to decide between Edge Juice, Edge CTS, or Banks Econo. I'm also weighing different options to soften up the ride.

Which modules/programmers will monitor inst MPG? I miss the real time readout.

You have a beautiful Truck. Congradulations! I put a six gun with exhaust at 700 mi. You might want to contact your dealer for the warranty. My dealer said Banks was the only tuner they would not bother you because of the safety features built into the tuner. They even offerd to put it in.

Thanks. That makes me feel alot better since my Six Gun is on its way from Dmaxstore.com. I was going to ask the service manager about the Banks when I go in on Fri. How do you like your Six Gun? I'm hoping for an extra 2mpg. Right now on my 60mi drive to work i get about 21-22mpg 90% freeway.

I've got about 1100mi on it so far and put the pedal to the floor for the first time today. From a 10mph start it spins them all the way to 2nd and spins again when it shifts into 2nd. And that's with 48lbs of air in the rears. This truck is amazing, never going back to gas again!

And it beats the hell out of my dad's 7.3 Diablo tuned powerstroke.
