I am getting a Ranch Hand Bumper this week hopefully. What would you guys suggest, the Heavy Duty one (The Legend) or the little bit lighter one (The Summit Series) that still has the grill guard and everything. I guess I am concerned about adding the heavy one to the front end and having even more weight up there. Anybody that has either feel free to give me your thoughts on them. Thanks.

I have the Legend Series & it's been on my truck for over 5 years now and I love it. I don't think the extra weight affects the front end very much because the I have had zero problems with my front end. I don't have to worry about anything messing up my front end, and I think they look great too.

I don't know if you already have an idea in where you're going to buy it from, but I suggest you look at one of their factory outlets for the best pricing. When you go in ask them if they have any factory defect ones that they would sell for cheap. We've bought multiple items from them that are discounted because of a paint chip or something small like that.

Legend. I was going to have it installed about 2 weeks ago but the extra money I had to pay for them went out the window on other car repairs.

The Legend is fairly heavy. If you don't need it, go with a lighter model. There are other brands also, such as Frontier (frontier-gear.com).

I guess its personal preferance to me, not really weight. I think if I were to go with a new RH it would be the bullnose anyhow. I too was concerned a little with weight b/c every truck you see from TX on ebay with one seems to sag a little. Anyways, I put a n ARB on my service truck and don't even know its there. I have a legend for my 05 that I'm fabbing on to give it a different look. I cut the brush guard off and am debating whether or not to make a tube like the bullnose has. I may just mount it for now and see how it looks......maybe even take a poll. Its from an 01-02 so the mounts are different. I stopped work when I figured that out, but plan to work more on it again soon.

That being said, when I cut off the brush guard, I'd have guessed it to weigh around 125lbs or so.

The RH Legend bumper replacement weighs 309lbs per my installer.

That aint no 309 lbs. Ive had one and installed it myself, maybe 150 tops.... Ok maybe more, but 2 people can do it with ease.

Are you talking about the guard or the complete bumper replacement? The summit rear bumper replacement weighs about 150ish lbs and there is at least twice the steel in the front.

I am having it done by the Ranch Hand Outlet Store in San Antonio. I am just concerned about the heavy weight in the front causing worse mileage and or tire wear. But I think I like the heavier one better and the idea of the heavy one better. I eventually hope to get a 4" lift cause I think these bumpers look really good with a lift. Codythom, sent you a PM.

I have the legend series on the front of my truck and the cowboy 10" drop on the back, they've been there for 160,000 miles. No tire wear problems, no front end wear problems. I just got an alignment (new tires ya know) and the man that did the alignment said everything was still fine (and he repairs front ends for a living).

My TDK weighs only about 70 pounds more than stock and can take a hit. Heavier is not always better. http://www.throttledownkustoms.com

go with the legend i had one on my 07 classic and it was a great bumper. its heavy but not too bad...id say 250lbs. just measure ur front fender before u put it on and after see how far it sagged down and adjust ur torsion bars accordingly.
