I know the answer to this question is just speculation, but informed and educated guesses would be appreciated. What do you think the price increase will be for the 2006 duramax/six speed allison will be ? Do they have any trends of going up 1k or more per year ? I probably shouldn't worry or freak out about the extra money (when dealing with my dream truck) especially when we are talking about ten's of thousands but I just like planning ahead. I guess I'm a sceptical person. Thanks everyone.

honestly a base diesel is like $40k already.. top of the line is probably $52k.. at that point, $1k really won't make a huge difference in the payment. its worth it anyways

Being in the Military stationed overseas I have the oppurtunity to purchase most american made vehicles factory direct at invoice price. I am waiting to order an 06 and went in the other day to see if they had the 06 pricing. He said they are waiting on it to come in anyday but told me that I could order one right now at the 05 pricing plus an "upcharge" for an 06 model. The charge was $1256.50. I didn't think that was a huge amount of money but I am still waiting to order until they have the 06 price.

Thanks aziator for the response that was helpful. I too am going into the military in December when I graduate college. I'm going to Army OCS. So how is life overseas ? I'm very excited to serve especially when I get the chance to go international.

Military is Great. Korea was a good time, Iraq was a blast the first time, this time it sucks. Good Luck with OCS. I will update when they get the 06 pricing here and try to post prices as I will have them hopefully within 2-3 weeks.
