My service 4wd came on the other day on my 05 dmax. I exited back to fuel milage and it was gone. It came back on today, did the same thing but a short time later it came on again. does anyone know what this means?

When it comes on again, check to see if your indicator light for for 2WD is lit. When I had the service 4WD light, my 2WD indicator light would turn off. I would need to keep pressing it then it would come back on. Took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty, but this was 5 years ago. Recently it has done it a couple times last winter, mostly when it's cold, but cold here is 50 deg. I'll have to find the paper work on that repair to see what they actually fixed. I don't know if it was the switch or the actuator.

Happened to me once a little while ago. Took it to the dealer and they said that it just lost connection with the computer. everything still worked fine at the time just had a message flash on occasion. Hopefully for you it will be as easy of fix.

mine says that when something gets wet

somethinng must need some heat shrink taPE. Sounds like a worn wire casing. Possibly anyway

you might need a new switch.the last few that came threw my shop that was the problem
