My buddy has a 6 liter that runs wicked rough when cold (not as in cold outside but cold engine), but is fine once it gets up to temp. A shop told him it was his injectors and gave him a cleaner and said that if that didn't work they could flush all the injectors and try that. What do you guys think

Thanks

I would start by cleaning the air intake plenum and the IAC. Probably all gummed up.

It could be injector spool valves, there is a new flash from Ford that could possibly fix the problem.

What year and how many miles? HEUI's are notorious for letting ya know when injectors are starting to die.

I think this is the culprit. I searched online a bit and came up with this. It has all the symptoms. It is an 05 with like 170,000.

With 170K on the odo, its more likely a few injectors. Do a cyl contrib test when its running.

With a fleet of 6.0L's I can't count our injectors. We have two trucks that have to be plugged in year-round, due to the rough idle. Two dealers with the same result. Replace injectors and keep it plugged in! Great design...

05-07 6.0's do not have problematic injectors. But if they do go out, blue smoke and a rough idle when warmed up is the givaway.
