Ok, pulling a big hill with about 7000 in tow. (My brothers D/A) White smoke, rattling and knocking, low power, switched the programmer to stock from tow and no change. Had to call a roll back. Any ideas on why a 20k mile truck died?? Fresh oil change 2 days ago, fresh fuel that ran good for about 200 miles. Oil appears and smells fine, Air filter clean and intact. Dealer says maybe the fuel rail or injector... They will start swapping parts in 14 days to determine the cause. New truck bought this am to replace the POS that stranded me yesterday. Good thing they wanted it, my brother didn't. This is our 6th CC Duramax since 2003 and the second one to die with low miles on it.

When you say big hill?
How much fuel was in the tank?
Any fuel system mods?

Fuel mods, I dunno, only the egde juice thing. Hill is steep, and about 1/4 mile long (both ways :) ) Requires low gear on larger rigs to descend. We had about 1/2 tank of fuel. Heck I cannot tell about these trucks, we run em so hot (fuel and egt warning chirp all the time when climbing these hills around here, it is hard to tell if I burnt the turbo or just ran it outta fuel. Usually when I loose fuel it spits and looses a little power, this was a nearly total power loss. Felt like I was pulling a lowboy with a d6 on it behind a toyota 2 wheel drive 4 cyl.
I see you are from Colorado, alabama hills are bumps in the road to you guys.
