What gear do you Tow in. When towing the TT 4.5 tons I tow in 3rd staying out of OD. Was told this would save the tranny. Using the lower gears on take offs and some long steep grades. Fastest I go is only 60mph.

I use 3rd for long pulls etc. I live in fairly flat country so I tow alot in OD. That said I monitor tranny temp closely. I seldom run over 200 degree temp. I do have a deep pan and quick shifts that I think help alot. My experience so far has been good. I also tow in the 60-65MPH range.

I rarely take mine out of O.D. and tow with a combined weight of 15000 lbs @ 70-75 MPH, were on the prairies here so its mostly flat but there are some good hills that require downshifting.
