Just wondering cause I couldnt find acurate info on chevys web site, what is the max trailer weight on a 3500 ext. chevy van with the 6.0 and 4.10's?? I see fords e350 with a v-10 and 4.10's is 10,000lbs. Chevys site says 6,400lbs but I cant see that being possible since my 2000 3500 cutaway box truck with the 5.7 pulls 10,000lbs pretty well. I really dont like the ford van too much but if it pulls 3600lbs more I have no choice.

You will be fine with the Chevy. Better yet you should get a Dmax and 155" wheelbase.

dont know about the gasser, but iirc my 3500 is rated for 10,000 traler.

i'd personally buy 100000000000000000000000000000000 more Express vans before I'd buy another E-350, and I've had 6 E250/350's

If money wasnt a problem, i'd buy a 3500 cutaway with the longest wb, d-max and the bay bridge box with the attic over the cab.

The Ford E-350 engine and transmission you can't trust coming from the factory. You are just asking for problems right off the lot. The frame and axle are better though. Ford has always had the toughest frames. Nevertheless if you are going brand new, never go Ford unless you like fixing stuff.

I was at the chevy dealer looking at a cutaway and noticed it had a Dana rear axle. My 2000 cutaway has a 14bolt, when did they change to dana and why?? I never had any problems with mine.
