Just bought my first diesel. 07 2500hd lbz 70k. Driving down the highway and a bell starts dinging, the air bag, battery and emergency brake lights come one and all guages (except for speedo and tach) drop to zero. Truck is still running fine. Happens off and on off and on zeroing out then kicking back to normal. I fight fire for a living and literally almost pulled over and started crying (jk). I was very nervous to buy a diesel in the first place and now this wtf do i do.

Loose ground, maybe? Not just battery ground, does the truck have any mods?

Maybe a bad instrument cluster?

I used to have a 2004 pontiac gto. Once in a while, all of the gauges would go completely wacko, all kinds of warning bells and chimes going off...turn the car off and back on, it would quit doing it for a while. I suggest trying to get that fixed under warranty. Mine ended up being the entire instrument cluster, and I had to have that replaced twice. Gotta love GM!!!

talked to the dealership today and they said it is most likely the instrument cluster and it would be replaced at no cost to me!!!!!!! Thanks guys for all the advice.
