Looking at getting this truck on auction but don't want the lift. How easy is it too remove a lift like this or maybe its hard too tell without knowing what brand it is?? Thanks

Sorry but this is about the best picture I got of the lift. I suppose you can't really tell by just looking at it:(

Its most likely a ProComp 6" lift. thats what the dealers around here usually throw on those southern comfort edition HD's. Don't know anything about the lift tho...sorry.

Well it is not easy. I would look at a differnt truck or straight axle it. The main thing would be the alignment tabs and upper control arm mount that you have to trim. If you had another frame that you could get the tabs/brackets from you could do it but unless you get the truck increadibly cheap or have the abilty to to some frame work i would buy something un lifted to start. Yes it does look like a pro comp lift. I myself like my a pro comp lift. What are they asking for that itr looks like it was roled on it side. I love rebuildables.

I don't think it is going to be to hard I have found on most lifts and let me say I haven't done one on a chevy truck in years. Has been pulling the steering arm off of the steering boxes they were either really hard or easy so you never know what your going to get the rest is just basicly bolting and unbolting, shorting the brake lines that is when it helps to have all the stock stuff so you might just look for some one who wants the lift and trade them for there stock stuff you need etc... Good Luck. And to add to what he said about the frame I would think you could find that stuff relatively easy I know you can in Houston.

Looks like a ProComp from the look of the lower control arm drop bracket, but could be something else.
Run away if its a ProComp, i wanted to do the same thing bit its a real pain if you don't have all the parts that have been cut off. Nothing wrong with the lift, mines been on the truck for close to 300k km and its a solid lift (except for the buckling crossmember, but that doesnt bother me).

Heres an idea look at the pro comp instructions. It will show you what was cut off.

I'll have too keep that in mind if we do get it. Your not all that far away. Yea the truck is a rebuilder here is a few more shots of the truck. The truck is in OK and we are in IA so can't really go look to see what brand of lift it is. But if there is stuff that is cut not really sure if would want too get into all that.

get them to send you a picture of the front suspension then we could tell you what brand it is.

Why not just leave it lifted? There is plenty of market for lifted duramaxes.

Well, if its a spindle type lift, not much is cut enough to worry about. the same stuff can be put right back into place if you were to do a swap with a non lifted donor truck......which I just happen to have. I'm only about 3 towns out of IL, right off of I-80 ;).

leave it as is if possible if not, then you can take off the lift its just a matter of time and money.

Thanks for the offer maxxedout The truck is in Oklahoma City at a auction pool. Yea they have a shot of the front end but its up too high and you can't really see down far enough. We really want the truck as it's got real low miles and all that. If its that spindle type lift then we would be all set and besides we would have the whole cab off too so it would be fairly easy too get too everything. Thanks alot for all the help guys and the auction also has some appraisers that I could get too go look it over and find out what kind of lift it is. I'll just have too see what they charge too do that.

I looked at the pics again that is a 6" pro comp lift. You can see the drop brackets that are bolted on the upper control arm. Theyare attached with gold colored bolts. It look like it may have mx6 shocks also. Also judging by the front cross member and the torsion bar drop bracket I would also say its a pro comp. If you but it it is probly not worth un lifting.

The white body shocks could be a fabtech lift though too.

I am not basing the lift brand on the shocks it was just a observation.

That is a Rize 10" kit and it is a COMPLETE bolt on with no cutting at all.

Let me know what you want for it. I can probably set you up with some PYO's and tires too..........maybe even NBS GMC center caps ;)

Infact I'll do the work free if you get it here and hook me up with a good price on the stuff.
