I did a search and found many symptoms but not exactly what my 05 is doing.

On fill up my guage does read Full
After about 2gal burned I am at 3/4 full
After about 6gal burned I am closer to 1/2 full
as I burn fuel the guage drops rapidy, this morning when I fired up my rig the low fuel light came on and the guage read empty. I drove to the fuel station and the rig took only 18gal (34gal tank) and fuel used was at 16gal..?

As I drove to work I see the fuel guage drop pass 3/4 to almost 1/2 then it works it's way back up to full??

My guage is on CRACK.:eek:

Were should I begin my troubleshooting?

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the fuel level sensor was bad. Part cost me about 180.00. PITA to replace. Had to remove the truck bed to get to the fuel sending unit.

Well my SpeedO issue went away on it's own maybe this will too :eek::D

My "fuel used" is close enough not to run out so for now I'll go by that...
