I have the dark charcoal leather, at first it was appealing. Now it almost disgusts me, just a butt ugly dark grey. I am curious as to what interiors you guys have. Anyone know how much it would cost to have a custom interior done? Seen in a mag, a while back, a white leather they called "sable"? Looked great done with burlwood dash and console trim. Anyone with ideas?pics?prices? really getting bored with my interior and i do a lot of driving, so it's the part of the truck I see most. THanks.

I like my dark grey. I had light grey in my last car and it was a pain to keep clean.

Strike another one for the but ugly gray.
Maybe they can get the zebra style or even better the ostrach. That way when you punch and go aground corners those little bumps can grip you arse and hold you in.:D

Saw a truck in Milwaukee that had a leather interior upgrade done by Erickson Auto Trim in Racine, WI. (they have other locations.) It was really nice. The leather was thick and gorgeous like you would see on a nice leather sofa in your house, or a good jacket. It happened to be the butt ugly gray, but that was owner preference.

Light gray in last 3 trucks. Easy to keep up. Would estimate you might part with 4 to 5 K to get a really good quality 100 per cent leather interior. (replacing all the vinyl non seating areas as well as current leather) Might be OK if you plan to keep the truck for a long time but won't add much to trade or resale value.

Tan interior here. Gotta cleanup the dirt and grease spots now and then. Had the dark grey on my wifes chevy 1500. I did not like it either

I'm just buying a truck with the dark charcoal interior. I was looking for the tan interior, but this truck is the right price so I'm taking it.

I hope I don't regret the decision.

Light grey here. If you really wan't some trick interior check out katzkin.com you can do any combination you can think of. Suede/leather any thing you can think of. If you go there sight you can find a dealer near you to istall or install yourself they are basically slip on covers. The leather is 10 times better than the garbage they give us in our trucks. The place that put in my sunroof is a liscensed dealer for them and quoted me $1500 for a cc that included the door panels and was also leather on the outside and suede in the center.

3 local katzkin dealers quoted 1100 for leather in crew cab. i think that included door panels.

i have cloth right now, so dark grey leather seems pretty good to me!

Tan leather was picked on all of the past few vehicles because it matches the dogs (two golden retrievers). Cleans great, wears impressively well for having dogs on it all the time. The only issue that we all have is the wrinkly outer edge of the seats, regardless of color.

Was that installed or just the do it yoursefl kit?

I really like what I've seen from Katzkin, and they offer some cool customizing, I was thinking about some trick little Duramax emboidery.

On a kinda related note, the best interior is the Ford King Ranch saddle leather. I love it.

Dark grey and love it. Some of the other forums occasionally have group buys on katzkin's leather for like 600

With all this chatter about colors, I was expecting somebody to get around to telling us what is the best brand and type of cleaner used to clean the leather. Saddle soap or whut? How about some of you posting your favorite leather cleaner.

Best leather cleaner and preservative I've found is a product caller "Bick 4". Generally sold at boot shops, saddlerys and shoe repair shops. No waxes and such. Use it on the truck, 2 cars, boots, saddles and tack.

I love the dark grey, especially with the maroon/black exterior. However, I have been thinking of trimming it with some maroon nagahide (sp?).

I use Lexol (you can find it in saddle shops and some car places). It comes in two bottles, one is a cleaner and one a conditioner. It works good IMO, a lot better than those all in one cleaner and conditioners. You could actually see the leather getting lighter and cleaner.

I had the dark gray on a 2000 model 1500. did not like after awhile either. My last 2 trucks have the tan interior. I really like it.

I had a 99 1500, bought it new,it was the only blue interior I had seen. Loved that interior. Had to trade up to the Duramax but trade down to light grey.

Man I loved that blue.

My last 2 trucks have the tan interior. I really like it.

My gasser chev had a tan interior and I liked it much better than the sea of charcoal in my new/used Dmax. As time and $ permits, I'm going to use some paint and some billet to hopefully lighten up the brooding "mood" of my interior.

I have the dark pewter leather in my Sierra and the Tan in the Yukon...I really like the dark grey, but I only have 250 miles in it so time will tell. However, I don't like the Tan because my 5 year old beats up on it and it shows!

I use Armor-All's Leather wipes to clean up the Yukons interior and it seems to cleans up those little footprints off of everything, three wipes does all the leather in the vehicle.

My LLY is black and I would have prefered a black leather interior, for me the darker the better.

I wasn't so sure about the charcoal in the beginning, but now I love it. Hides dirt and stuff a lot better than the lighter colors. The tan headliner kinda keeps the interior from getting too dark. I also lightened it up by adding a Denali instrument panel silver/wood bezel. When I get around to installing the matching Denali center console, I think the charcoal seats will go well with the silver/wood. My dad's 2003 Tahoe has the tan leather interior and it just seems to look so dirty all the time, even though he keeps it clean. I guess the light color just highlights every little spot and dirty area. Its kinda funny when I get into his car its almost blinding because Im used to a dark "cave"...
