Mike,
I just had the Suncoast 5 installed and my wife picked the truck up, since I am at work for another week, and she sayd that it was shifting rather hard. I believe I remember members saying that this is normal and the shop also told her that it needed a brake in time.
Is this the case?
If I also remember correctly Suncoast said that they come with a 2000 stall converter which they said is actually less than stock.
Thanks for any input.

Hi, I am not Mike, so he may correct me, but it sounds like you need to have the TAPS reset in the TCM.

I appreciate any information I can get. Thanks for the help and I was hoping to get this done when I get back.
The installer did not have a Tech II (Is this what you need to reset the TAPS, correct?)
I will have to find someone that has it. I don't feel like taking to the dealer to have this done and have to answer their questions.

Tech 2 will work, as will a snapon scanner, even a quad would probably be better than nothing.

On the '01 and '02 Ally it is a must to clear and reset TAPS because it will take the TCM forever to relearn on its own. Ratlover is right, the SnapOn scanner will work, Tech 2 is the best. Your harsh shifts will not really hurt anything till you get this done.

Thanks again for the help.
Anyone know of a place in Anchorage that would have the Tech II, besides the dealership?
