What stall speed should I get in my truck? Its mostly a daily driven truck with around 500hp and 800ft lbs. I don't tow anything, but like to mess around on the street. Its got a few bolt ons and a stock turbo(until it blows up). Tranny should be equivalent to a SCV. Just looking for an idea on what stall to get.
I've got a 2800 3 disc in my camaro and for now I wish I had gone a little bigger, but with the new 700rwhp motor going in, it'll stall at about 3400 which should be about perfect.
Whats the advantage of going with a lower stall speed? Also whats the stock stall speed?

Well, Precision recommended a 1600 which is about 200rpm lower than stock.

I emailed them and Jack responded. They guy building the tranny says he was going to put in a 2000 stall.

Dialing in a converter should never be done by email. I never sell anything through email.

Just curious why Mike, you can pack a lot of detail into an email that you know you'll forget in the "excitement" of a phone call. A well worded message can be extremely detailed. After a few exchanges the message will have good CYA details as well. As an engineer, I know details can be lost after a phone converstation is ended.
I don't disagree with you, a good phone call can be the icing on the cake, but initial inquires through email can be value added.

We agree to disagree.:D I ignore long emails. If it contains that much info and questions it needs to be done on the phone or in person. If it means a lost sale; so be it. At least it won't be a mistake as that would cost both of us money.
Jack at Precision Industries is a great guy but a salesman. You want him to pick your converter? Not me.:D

Just go with the ML converter. I use my truck for everything and it works great no matter what I use it for.

Would 1600 be too low? The tranny builder wants about a 2000.

Way too low. Go with the ML. Your builder is correct.
