I decided to do a ¼ mile run now that I got my PDA hooked up. It was about 95* out and I had the SL setting on the Banks with the accelerator pump set on 200%. I just wanted to see what she would do. Well a little over half way though the run the PDA alarm went off. I have the EGT limit set at 1350 with a 2 sec overshoot time. When I got done I pulled up the time slip and I hit a max EGT of 1500:eek:. So, my question is do you think I hurt anything by my EGT’s being that high? I’m not sure if it defueled because as soon as the alarm went off I got out of it. BTW, my time was 17.3 sec:(. But like I said I let off the throttle when the alarm went off.

OK, maybe I'm being a worry wart. I just don't want to screw something up. Briano, I did read your FAQ but I didn't know if playing with the fuel settings on the PDA would alter anything. I would however like to know what is considered a "long period of time"? Are we talking a few minutes, or 20 minutes? Thanks.

a few seconds I'd think nothing would get hurt...if you were towing a load up hill for minutes on end then yes I'm pretty sure something will be fried. you can search for max egt on the site and find lots of input on it. my alarm goes off on my Edge if I get on it.
I am by no means an expert..just going off of what has been said many times before by the pros that would get on here.

IIRC, the Banks Ottomind/Economind (and, I'd guess, their 6-Gun also) is set to automatically start de-fueling when 1300+EGTs are reached to keep things safe.

Ive pegged my egt guage many times and nothing has blown yet but like said I have never held it there for more then 10-15 secs. My guage goes to 1500.
