Everytime the CEL comes on which has been twice now. It wont shift into 4th or maybe 3rd? Not sure what gear its stuck in?

I am guessing Solenoid is burned out. Have to drop pan and valve body. If one new the wiring on the plug one may check it at the connector. I shows shorted then drop pan and valve body I would say. I say thats the buzzing your hearing maybe.

Well im getting my trans go jr kit installed thursday, should that solve the Solenoid problem?

Also the buzzing is defintely coming out of my exhaust. I was right next to my exhaust tip when he was clearing the P0420 code

If the solenoid is bad then you will need to replace that. Once you have it out you can test it. Might go down to dealer and make sure they have one if needed. Or closest Allison parts dealer. It may be stuck with shavings or something. But won't know till you crack it open.

Well then just inform them of the code and get them to check it out for you... They will be in there anyways.

Thats what Im thinking. If its just the solenoid are those things expensive?

Anyone on the P0420 code? And why Im getting a 3-4 second vibration/buzzing type sound coming from my exhaust.

It is related to the code Im almost positive.

Like I said everytime he cleared the P0420 code it came back as pending in about 2 seconds. Everytime it came back on thats when the sound happened.

A P0420 has to do with the catylist system.

Not to be a smartass but this has already been said.

Look at my posts and what I said about the P0420 code.

Been out a few days. Have you resolved this yet? Have you returned it back to stock tune by some chance with all that has been going on. Also seen in another post getting shift kit installed. Was there an issue with the solenoid?

No worries. The point I was trying to make (poorly) is that the two codes are in no way related.

The 976 is just like you said: a short or open. Does it come back instantly when cleared or is it random?
