i was going up bakers grade going into vegas it was 85 out and my predator was set on level 2(65HP) my temps got almost to the red when i slowed it down to 55. yesterday morning i saw atf on the exhaust and on the bottom of the truck. it looked like it came out of the release valve on top of the trans. i have a suncoast 111 and tts t/c. is that normal for when it gets too hot? what would of made this happen?

if the fluid is high and the temps are up, its possible.
As long as its not slipping ( I doubt it) then maybe the level was a bit high. Where is the level at now at operating temp on level ground?

Mine did this too. I learned the fluid level at normal operating temp needs to be 1/2-1 qt below the full mark.

Rick
You are slightly over full. As far as temps, give me a call.

If the fluid level gets too high it starts getting churned up by the rotating clutch assembly and will get aerated. If it foams up too much it will start coming out of the vent. This will happen if it's overfilled or gets too hot.

thanks for the help. i talked to Mike L. and he set me straight again. the trans Mike built is so over built it runs up hills so strong i need to start investing in keeping things cooler. i just love flying past dogs and furds with smaller trailer and waiving by as i past them. as before my trans would be limping all the time. Mike L. is the man for a trans. i have beat the he!! out of it and it has never done anything but perform above and beyong since Mike L. worked his magic.
