I have searched the forum and have not gotten a yes no answer or was unable to find it. I am wanting to upgrade to a 4 in exhaust, downpipe upgrade, and crossover pipe upgrade. Will this cause the stock ECM to throw a code or anyother problems?

My wastegate system is stock, well everything is stock. I am hoping by allowing the exhaust system to breath I might see 1 mpg or so increase.

I am getting ready to do some traveling in Aug. and I thought I might upgrade the exhaust ahead of my travels but don't want to have any trouble with it as I will not have time to mess with it once I am on the road.

Thanks

Brian

Won't cause any codes or problems...

3" Downpipe, 4" exhaust, 2 or 2.25" crossover...

I will be doing the same as well. As far as I know there are no sensors in the exhaust like on newer vehicles which is where the problems would be.

as for the 1mpg increase, it may be possible, but I don't know if the price of the kit would be worth the 1mpg increase.

for me, i'm looking for a little more power, as well as I will be upgrading other things, so it makes sense.

I upped to a 4" a couple of years ago, I could tell a noticable increase in mpg as well as more power. There was one hill locally it used to allways downshift climbing with the cruise on, not after the larger exhaust. I now have a larger crossover as well. I recomend doing the crossover at the same time if you are thinking about it.

Have them weld a bung in for a pyro at the same time, will save lots of time & aggrevation later if you are going to install gauges.

Have them weld a bung in for a pyro at the same time, will save lots of time & aggrevation later if you are going to install gauges.

If you do it this way, plan on adding like 200 degrees to your gauge reading to get a more accurate value since the temperature in there would be that much cooler than where it should be monitored. (pre turbo in the passenger exhaust manifold)

Thanks for the replies. I did not want to get on the road for business travel to find that I would have a problem.

Once again, Thanks
