What are the settings you use on your trucks. I'm looking to purchase the Edge Juice W/Attidude. I tow a 33 foot Weekend Warrior and was wondering about the settings you can use.

90HP level unloaded max, I would go level 1 for towing. Low boost fueling how ever you like it(I ran 5) either watch the EGT gauge or set the defuel in the 1250 range towing, turn it off or all the way up playing.

I tow my 13.5k fiver in level 2. I run around town in level 4. Ran the strip one weekend in level 5. 31k miles (put it on at 670 miles) and have had good success so far. Except for the worn back tires :)

Can you make adjustments for larger tire sizes? I had 245's but went up to 265's to stay in the class "E" range.

You can make the attitude display a corrected speed but it wont change your speedo or anything else on your truck

I'm running the Predator @ 0 for recalibrating for tire size (speedo correction) & removeing rev limiter.
I'm running the Edge @ 4 99% of the time. The 1st time I layed into the throttle while Edge was set @5 & I was at approx 50mph, I QUICKLY sent the tranny into limp mode, so I don't go there no more.
Incidently, I've assumed I limped it then so easily because I believe the torque converter was locked up, and the clutches (tranny) couldn't handle the torque, and so began to slip, resulting in limp. Am I on the right path that it had to do with the torque converter being locked up, since I'd previously nailed the throttle while set @ 5, but going slower, and did not have any problems.

I have just the Juice module, no Attitude. I tow in level 1 and the rest of the time I run level 4.

I have just the juice on the LB7. 99% of the time I have it set on level 1 in tow haul mode and level 2 w/out TH mode. This is the truck the wife drives all the time and she's not much for watching the gauges when the trailer is hooked up. When I'm driving it, it's level 2 TH and level 4 otherwise.

I too have the juice no attitude. Towing 15K 38 foot toyhauler in T/H Level 2 sometimes Level 3 not T/H on level interstates. Level 3 around town in order to save the stock transmission. 28K miles no problems so far...Jim

I have the Juice/Attitude combo and just don't feel comfortable running above level 3 on my stock transmission. Level 3 is pretty damn quick as it is. 7.5 seconds 0-60 with low boost set to 1.

I will probably tow my 5,500 LB boat and trailer in level 1 or 2.

I've nailed mine on level 5 many times and vhaven't limped it YET. What makes you think you limped it? Did the CEL come on and what were the codes if it did? Maybe you set a 1093 code?

My theory that I limped it stems from
I'm rolling along @ about 45-50mph... layed into it. She started moving out, but then rather quickly the SES light came on, and all of the sudden it took 3000rpm to go 55mph... stuck in 3rd or 4th gear??
So I pulled over, shut down (breifly), but when I started back up, same thing... 3k = 55mph:eek::confused:. Now I'm a little nervous...
Pull back over, shut down again, but this time I even open the door to make sure even the electronics shut down. Start it back up, all good.
Plugged in the Predator to check the codes, 3 thrown, don't recall the ##'s now, but basicly they all 3 pertained to the EGR, & sufficient flow.

So I assume that was limp mode?
I think I've launched since then in 5, no problems. But that 1 time it happened, I remember I was loafing behind traffic, probably @ 45 or 50 when I nailed it, so I was thinking that the TC was locked, leaving only the tranny or the tires to break loose with excess HP, and the tranny slipped first.

This is just my theory, trying to explain to myself what happened.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

I'm thinking it was just your engine went to limp mode. The insufficient fuel is common with the predator tune (P1093) and the LLY. When I got it (edge without pred tune) I thought I'd limped the tranny also. Do a search on the P1093 and it may help you understand it a little better.

I think I've still got the piece of paper I wrote down the codes on at home, I'll have to check it, but I could swear all 3 of them had to do with the EGR.
I'll do some more reading on the 1093, and find the ones mine threw that day. It has not thrown any since that 1 incident either.

Thanks for the input!

Codes thrown @ same time as limp mode...

P0401 * Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Flow Insufficient
P0404 * Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Open Position Performance
P0700 * Transmission Control System Malfunction

Sooo, what does this tell us?
At the time, as I over-simplified it to myself, I convinced myself that:
Since the exhaust had also just been put on, and thus breathing better, it was just complaining about not seeing the EGR flow it was expecting, resulting in the 401 & 404.
Seperately, since I hit it @ 50mph, the TC was locked (I'm guessing??), too much power so clutches slipped, went into limp, resulting in the 0700.

Figured so long as I don't do that no more, no more problem...
But, reading some other posts on the 0700 makes me think there may be more to it, or at least additional codes I need to have reset?
What really happened?

The terminals on the wires attached to the TCM could possibly be bent, backed out, a damaged or poor tension. Also could be chaffed wire or broken wire inside insulation. Could also be a bad TCM. There is a procedure for troubleshooting this but you need a Tech II. Were you able to erase ALL the codes? I'm guessing that the P0700 is still there since the Pred. cannot erase TCM codes. I say remove the edge and take it to the dealer.

i found that 265's made my stock speedo perfect. there is a giant hoax where manufacturers tell you that you are going faster than actual when stock. that's what i think anyway... nearly every stock car i've had is a couple mph slow.

P0700 in the ECM means the TCM has set some codes Need to scan the tranny computer.

Well today was my day. I limped the bugger. I was driving along and going up a slight hill when I saw a motorcycle closing in. I had the E/A on 5/5 and the predator 40hp tune (I know I was asking for this) and T/H on when I hit the peddle. I think it was trying to downshift but all I got was a clunk. Tranny unlocked and stuck in 4th gear and the CEL came on. I went to the next light and the tranny didn't seem to downshift while stopped. The truck started really slow (lagging) and at the next light I shut it down and restarted. All was well. I shut the edge down to 0/5 and got to work and scanned for codes. P0700.

My question is when you limp it in T/H mode does the TC automatically unlock?

Level 2 on the Attitude when towing the 10K fifth wheel. I don't have the EGT hooked up since I have my SPA gauge. I rarely hit 1300 degrees when towing the hills of West Va. Turnpike.

Level 5 at all other times though. Never a limp with the Suncoast Level 3

Mine has done the same thing that Dmaximus has had done. 3 times. I thought I was limping it as well. Does anyone in KY have a Tech II? If not I may wait and tag up with someone in Indy?

I run around empty on level 4 (90hp). When towing my TT and carrying associated junk out camping (about 7k lbs) I use level 2. Set your Max EGT to 1250. I personally don't notice much performance change when fiddling with low boost fueling, but get a big kick out of the black smoke thing on level 5, low boost 5...

Don't use level 5 often but so far have had no trans issues (knock on wood!)
For those that don't have the Attitude monitor: GET IT- you are missing out on the best feature of the Edge!
