: Triple Shock Kit... Worth the $$ ?

In about a month I will be ordering a pro-comp 6" for my truck. Is the front triple shock kit worth the $$ (almost $400 w/o shocks). I drive on dirt roads and very bumpy county roads alot so im wondering if it would actually help any. Which brings me to my next question: Procomp ES shocks? Procomp Resevoir Shocks? or go with a different brand like Bilstein?

I think it would be more cost affective to just go with two shocks with reservoirs. I would think that will be better than three shocks without. I would go with Ranchos or Blisteins.

You really just need 2 shocks up there. No real reason other than show for the third shock. I don't even think you would notice it was or was not there other than with 3 the ride might be a little bouncier. Just my opinion. Good luck...

I already have the ProComp lift on but only went with 1 shock. I went with the ProComp MX6 shock (the 6-way adjustable one). Now I wish I would have got the whole multi-shock set up. I would like to go to the triple with MX6 on center and MX6 resorvoirs on the hoop frame. Yeah, it might be just a look thing but you never know it might help someday.

Four FOX SHOX with remote reservoirs here, best handling front end I've ever driven on a truck.:p:

anymore than 2 shocks adn your ride will get pretty stiff. one good adjustable shock does the job, the lift does not add any additional travel so a resevoir would not add any great benefit. if you like the looks, go with two or more but your ride may suffer

The reservoir is to provide fade free performance which you really won't realize on the road but I disagree with the ride getting worse. I had (single) Rancho 9000's up front before swapping them out to the twin FOX settup on both sides and it rides quite a bit better than it did and to everyone else who's ridden it as well.

Your best bet is to go with an upgraded shock such as a Bilstein 5150. There really is no need for multiple shocks unless you are doing heavy offroading, even then most serious offroaders only run 1 or 2 shocks. Question though, why are you going with a Procomp lift? There are many better quality lift kits and most come with better quality shocks, such as RCD with bilsteins standard.

Im going with the Pro-comp lift because of the Price($1400 or $2000 with multi shock kit). I had one on my old truck and it was a pain in the a$$ to install but I never had any problems with it, and I abused it pretty regularly. I would also prefer a "true" 6" lift rather than a Knuckle lift.
I hear quite a few people on here talkin down on pro-comp. I know they had problems with their older lifts, but their new bodystyle lifts seem really well built.

Well, on my old truck the tie rods went to crap after about 8 months. ALOT of play in the steering wheel. I did wheel it pretty regularly tho. I would probably look into some HD tie rods or sumthin.
