Has anyone here done a step by step instructions on how to replace a rear axle seal on a truck with disk brakes? The drivers side seal on my 03 is leaking.
I have done seals on my '95 and other trucks that have drum brakes but never one with disks.
Also, if the pads are wet with gear oil, are they toast? What about the little ebrake pad that is in there?
Thanks

It's exactly the same except you remove the caliper and rotor (it slides right off like the fronts). There's a separate hub instead of it being integrated into the drum like your 95. Other than that its the same, remove the axle and the hub is attached to the axle spindle the same as the drums were attached before.
As far as the e-brake pads, yep they'll be soaked but some will say replace and others say soak them with brake clean and move on. Thats your call. I used the brake clean method for a friend when he I fixed his last fall and so far no problems, trucks a stick so he uses the e-brake alot also.
If you need torque's for the axle nut let me know.

Thanks
The torque # for the axle nut would be great.

Someone did a write up with pics in the DIY section a while back. You should search there. It was very detailed and well done.

I found a very good description for doing the older style trucks with the drum brakes (I think it was on an 84 suburban) but I couldnt find anything showing the new disk style.
