Hi,
Ive been reading the board for a while, but havent posted much.
I Bought my 6.5 some months ago, But I'd call myself an seasoned Diesel enthusiast. Ive been driving and working on diesels for years.

I want to change most of the fluids. I changed the oil a few times since a bought it, I use Shell rottela 15w40 with a quart of lucas and Napa gold or Bosch Anti drainback filter.
I want to change the Front differential, Rear differential, Transfer case, and Transmission fluids.
What oils and filters/supplies should I use.

Also does anyone use Lubro-moly Diesel purge?
My Mercedes friend swears by it.

So far I have switched to Royal purple in the engine, and transmission.

When I need to change the other fluids I'll also switch to RP

This place is funny. It's hard to tell where to post certain things.

For instance; Like you, I would post this in this section - since you are specifically asking about your version of GM diesels. However, depending on which mod sees it first, you may or may not get moved to maint/fluids.

If BOTH apply, I don't see any reason to move it. But, it's all up to the mods. It's their house.

For gear lubes, I use TORCO. Any of the synthetics are great for your drivetrain.

I"m running Amsoil 15w-40 in the engine and currently running Royal purple 75w-140 in the dif. trans fluid is just regular trans fluid for now. The pickup will get all Amsoil fluids in the future.

The blazer for now since it's not on the road is running conventional everything including Rotella T 15w-40 in the engine.

Rotella is good oil, I don't think you need the Lucas. I know some people swears by it but it has placebo effect.

Napa Gold (WIX) or Bosch (Purolator Pureone) are all good filters.

For the Front and Rear Diff, use good gear oil 75W-90 like Amsoil or Mobil1 so you don't have to change too often.

Transmission also ATF by Amsoil or Mobil1.

Like JMJ said about the Lucas. i wouldn't run it. I ran the Synthetic version once and my oil pressure did come up a tad. The bottle did say "raises oil pressure." That's part of the placebo effect i'd say. The pressure goes up because the Lucas Additive flows like molasses in a walk in freezer. Pressure is resistance to flow and molasses doesn't flow very well at all. It's the same for all the "oil additives"

STP oil additive = thick as glue
Lucas oil additives = thick as glue
No Smoke additive = thicker than glue

My favorite brand that makes me laugh every time i see it on a shelf in a parts store is called "Motor Honey". The stuff is so thick it might as well be like Jello, but at least they are honest with the product name. ):h

I have Mobil 1 in my engine, Transyd in the trans, and will put Mobil 1 in the diff.

I run Amsoil in everything. Test after test it's proven itself over and over again.
