Ok so Im giving it about 50-60% throttle got up to 45 and then had to let off cause the light turned yellow on me. I let off the gas and my CEL comes on.
Im thinking hmm maybe something to do with the tune.

I figure Ill check it when I get home so I give it some gas and at about 30mph Im at 2300rpm roughly and it would not shift. So Im guessing I was in 3rd and it wasnt going into 4th? Or maybe I was in 2nd

I come up to a corner and pull off and hook up my quadzilla to read the code. The Quadzilla says no codes. So I start the truck back up and the CEL is gone and no problems the rest of the way home.

What just happened? And suggestions on what I should do to prevent it from happening again

Without a code we can only guess. How old is your fuel filter? that would be my first guess. Is there anyone near you with a Tech 2 that can scan it for codes?

Just changed the filter a week ago. Whats a tech 2? What type of shop would have one? I have a certified allison dealer in my area but not sure what their services are

Tech II is the scanner that GM service dept use to scan and program the modules on OBDII compliant GM vehicles. I run by an auto parts store and see if they can read them. If nothing then the next time it happens don't turn off and try to read them. Sounds like limped the transmission but only the codes could say. No idea if still running the 50HP tune or higher. I say the codes can be pulled with a Tech II or EFILive. Let us know what happens or find. Only thought is leave it on the same settings and try the same thing again. Get the codes and go from there.

a limp will not turn off that fast, and still would be able to read.

Did you get a "RANGE SHIFT INHIBITED" ?

It is an error that will display on the DIC. True usually would not think it go away but seen users turn on and off a few times and the CEL goes off. But i would think the code should still be there. I say you were in 3rd. Seems that where it goes when something does not go right. Have to look up on a gear chart to guess that was where you were at.

What hand held tuner can pull the codes? Can an edge?

I have an efi live guy close to me but hes hard to get ahold of.

I only turned the truck off once and back on and the light was off and truck ran fine.
Also the DIC didnt display anything. I looked while driving it to the corner before I turned it off

I figure all pulled codes even the Quad but hard to say. Edge will pull them as long as it is OBDII can-bus compliant. If you had an edge unit for say 2002 model it may not be able to read it. Run down to autozone or what ever and see if they see them.

Turning the truck off, will clear the limp mode..ie the 4th gear lock, but the cel will still be on for a while.

Yea the light went off right away

I havent been able to get ahold of my EFI live guy. I have to use my truck so I guess Ill just drive it around and see what happens?

Should I not drop back down tot he 50hp tune? Im on 70 right now

I say take it easy. No burn outs at the light and should be good. Till you figure out what the codes were if still there. Like I say give autozone or other a try. If you limped it I doubt you broke it. It is just weaken now if that is the issue.

Might check this post out since Quad no DPF related. Maybe there is a problem with latest tune firmware version. Might post that info to see if others using it are doing ok. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3386792#post3386792
