A buddy owns a shop and has a LLY in for head gaskets. The local dealer is telling him that their are no head gaskets out there. He has called around but has not found any. Same with the injector o ring. GM's so called gasket kit for head gaskets doesn't come with the head gaskets or injector o rings.
Anyone else notice this?

sounds fishy, I did the head gaskets on my LLY myself and had no problem getting the gaskets from the dealer. look for my thread on head gaskets, lots of info. the biggest thing is to make sure the right thickness gasket is used. there are three different thicknesses.

The thickness issue is why the kit doesnt come with them.

Just curious what temps should you avoid? Mine on a hot day pulling my 10k lbs boat will run 215 for a minute up a couple inclines and thats about it, normally 190-200 pulling.

I do not think 215 is anything to worry about. As stated in other threads one should always read temp with a scan guage or similar tool to get accurate readings as the factory guage lies.
Personally I think 230 is the start of trouble. 240 you should be looking for a safe place to pull over. And never shut your truck off if your temp guage is over 220. Let it idle itself cool.

You're looking at $500-1000 in parts and probably 25-30 hours your first time.
