Tried to install the Predator a few minutes ago. I got a script error when I tried to load the 65 hp tune. It backed up ok as the truck is driveable. However when you talk to Diablo and tell them, they ask if I pulled alll the fuses.. could this be the problem. I pulled the ones they said to pull for an 05 lly, But the predator directions are written for an lb7, the fuses are different. I have no SEO IGN, or RDO 1, or RAP 2 fuses in the dash. I have no SEO 1 fuse under the hood.

HELP???

Make sure the ignition switch is in the full ON position.

Is your truck an LLY? If so, there is an LLY insert in the back of the Predator operations manual that provides a diagram of which fuses to pull. Don't use the LB7 diagram in the front of the Predator manual.

:exactly:

Yup...this was my problem too. It would back up the factory tune just fine, but I hadn't switched the key to the full "on" position and got a script error trying to upload. I even pulled all the fuses and onstar stuff that they said. I almost wet myself...tried it a bunch of times, same problem (and couldn't even restore factory tune). Felt stupid when I figured out what was wrong. Turned key to full on position, and worked just fine.

BTW, I haven't pulled fuses or anything like they mentioned since then, and it works fine too...shrug.

When your predator turns on does it show "LLY". I just turn the key on, set parking brake, turn off driving lights, make sure radio and climate fan are off. Install tune. I haven't pulled fuses the last twenty times using the predator.

Yep, you guys are right. I didnt have it in the full "ON" position. It loaded ok and I even changed my tire size too. This thing is great. The tranny still shifts funny as it is relearning. I did try the edge EZ for a couple of weeks and didnt like the de-fuel pause, maybe the predator wont pause so much between shifts. I like trannys to "bang" between shifts. :ro) Will a stock tranny do that??

thanks chucker:)

Try loading the 40hp tune. I found that the 65hp tune had nasty shift pauses and sometimes sharp/nasty shifts. The 40hp was EXCELLENT. Have also seen many others post here complaining about various things (excessive noise, etc.) on the 65hp tune from predator...

is it just me or is the 85hp setting a lot louder than the 65hp

I'd agree that the 85 hp does seem to be louder.

Does anyone know how this would compare to the Banks 6 gun and speedloader? I'm just re-thinking if I want the flexibility to change tunes on the fly.

It seems like it helps to work your way up on tunes also. Start low and let your tranny learn, then up it one, let your tranny learn, and so on. This really worked good on my 2001 DMax. I don't run any of my newer trucks over the 40 hp settings cause we are always towing.

Which fuses do you really have to pull to change the predator? It is a PITA to get out needlenose to change settings and pull six fuses. 05 SLT with Onstar.

I was told ONSTAR was the main one. I specifically don't have it on any of my trucks. I have never pulled any fuses.
