Hey guys I have a 03 with 49000 miles and my truck for now is not being used a work truck it is just carrying stuff in the bed and does not have a trailer to it yet. My question is the purpose of the deep pan for cooling? If so I want to switch to synthetic and will do the hoot method and will do it again in 25000 miles or so to switch over fully to synthetic. Is there a reason why I couldn't do the deep pan next time around or are their other benefits to the deep pan? Thanks

Happy reading! (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/search.php?searchid=7147860)
Some say the tranny will run a little cooler, switching to synthetic will help a lot. The combo of the two will be a good benefit. It will give you a lot of piece of mind. Also, with the deep pan, you will need a deep filter and a Filter-Loc. Don't forget the external spin-on filter. A couple of vendors on the site have the package or kit for the deep pan...

What vendors I have looked on the vendor page and can't find any. Any help would be appreciated.

http://www.merchant-automotive.com/ Try them that's where I got mine. I believe they sell the kit of pan, spin-on, and pan filter all you have to add to the order is the filter lock.

Thanks man that is exactly what I wanted. The price is better than I thought maybe I will do the deep pan now. I was expecting the pan to be 5 times that price. Thanks
You will have fun changing it to the deep pan. Very easy...

the additional fluid will allow you to maintain your temperature for longer. Won't necessarily lower it enough to be noticable on the gauge, but will help keep it at desirable temps on those heavy hauls.
