Dig back in your collective memories gents. A few years ago someone on this list was making and selling a slick little attachment that fit behind the plastic grill to channel more air to the transmission cooler. Back in August of '03 I bought one of these fiberglass air deflectors and it did indeed allow more air to move through the transmission OEM cooler. One of the guys on this list made some and sold them on Ebay (Dmax-dude). I bought one and was tickled with the fact that it lowered the Transmission temp significantly. So, I am wondering if these are still available and who sells them?

Fred, I was doing a quick investigation for a newby and this worked! Hope you can get some sold. I have been using mine for so long, I wouldn't be without it! Works as advertised! This place is the best for guys that need help.

I can tell you guys from experience that the scoop has been installed in Phoenix for 2 years and no problems in this heat. The installation was so simple and quick that even the most novice of us could install it in <20 minutes! And I see an honest 25-50 degree temp drop from before the install on my trans temp. Use it you"ll like it!

Hoot mentioned it did not fit the GMC... Mines an '01 GMC... I would be interested if it were corrected to work with GMC's as well...

i sold my shop last year[nobody wanted to pay to restore cars]i keep the molds,so i probuly could lay up some of them, i fixed the problums w/gmc parts[had to cut back front lip] i also have molds to vacume form them,just need to finish vacume table[these are hand layed up,takes a lot of time]from bi and tri directional fiberglass,i sold them for 39.95-49.95 i think[some guys thought they looked crude,because of the raw fiberglass looks,, i found that i lowered trans temps 10-30 degs over not having any scoop,[seems to drop temps faster in and out of traffic]it just slides over top of cooler behind grill[no mounting screws]il try to dig up pics or il just take off my grill and take some more

Quite frankly the looks are not an issue. The scoop is hidden in behind the grill and not easily viewed. I did a quick flat-black spray paint on the scoop and it is almost invisible. I certainly would not be concerned with the "Bling" concern! Lowering the temp of the transmission is the most important. I think you have a viable product that is a benefit to Dmax owners. Hell, jus' :grd:
