Im wondering about how many miles a 6.2 will get before it s done for. if you ask my dad about a 350 he will say about 100,000 miles which ive seen them go out anywhere from 90,000-150,000 and of course some longer. but I dont know how long the 6.2 will usually go for.

Most will run at least 200,000, some won't make 200,000. It depends how it was taken care of, and some luck.

I've heard of one Chevy Van, that was driven 370000+ miles (600000km) until something gave up.

I have 225K miles on our 1986 Chev. C30 aand the engine runs great . It has a 4.56 rear end so I don't regularly drive it over 65 MPH (except for passing sometimes) and I change the engine oil & filter plus the fuel filter regularly. I still have the original fuel injectors. The coolant temp. does get to 225 degrees on a long steep grade, but that hasn't bothered me since the higher temp. expands the rods and pistons to help keep a sharp ridge from forming at the of the cylinder wall.
