Hi,

When I was leaving Arby's about 3 blocks from my house, I could feel the engine was'nt right, the throttle was kinda running eratic up and down. I looked at my gauges and the temp was moving from 160 to 210 up and down as quik as a tach.

I'm not getting a engine light or codes, does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

having same problem... as soon as the check engine light does come on you will need to unplug your intsrument cluster and then plug it back in, after that clear codes and go find a new instrument cluster! i need to go get me a new instrument cluster for that reason! oh and you will have 2 DTC's P0650 and P0381! try clearing the codes now, it will make the check engine light come on sooner! the instant that check engine light comes on, pull over and shut her down and unplug that cluster then plug it back in! the only tool you will need is a 7mm nut driver!

Did it make your truck run funny? (not as in ha ha) I would'nt think the instrument panel would make it run different, but who knows anymore.

I am scheduled to go to the stealership next tuesday, so hopefully they will find something.

Thanks

it didnt make my truck run any different although my trans shifted a lot smoother like it was slipping during the shifts... did you lose blinkers when your tach is fluctuating? i did!! but my coolant guage wasnt fluctuating tho too. but other than that pretty much same thing! did you try to unplug the cluster then plug it back in? also let me know what the dealer says! i went off of assumption that i need a cluster. so if you have that replaced and it fixes it let me know! also i have heard of people needing there clusters rebuilt or replaced because of a "stepper motor?" no ideas on that though

I'm Having very similar problems and don't know what to do...I installed the Bully Dog Triple Downloader and Outlook monitor and ran it for 1 day. I realized that I don't trust myself not no run it in extreme 100% of the time and blow my tranny in less than a week so the very same day I installed it, I uninstalled and set everything back to stock. I figured I'd take my truck for spin to make sure the de-tuning went as it should...it DID NOT!

First thing I noticed was when I turned the key my glow plug light nor my check engine light came on before starting. I started it anyways no problem and watched my tach freak out. No actual change in RPMs but the tach was bouncing out of control. Also, the seat belt is flickering, the air bag light is flickering, and I have no turn signals at all. I did figure out if I plug my seatbelt in, my tach works just fine.....???WTF???

My truck is throwing;
P0646 A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit Low
P0381 Glow Plug/Heater Indicator Circuit
P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp(MIL) Control Circuit

Before the Bully Dog download I had not one code! HELP please...

I currently have my whole dash tore apart and have tryed multiple things but no luck yet. I haven't resorted to taking it to a GM 'certified' tech yet (Because most are garbage) but if it's not fixed today I may have to. I'll keep you posted...

If dealer fix etc. fails you can buy a new one from US Speedo for a real fair price. Repairs also done by the same. Saves over GM prices if they won't cover it.

Finally figured out the damn problem. The ING E fuse terminals were stretched out from the outlook monitor install so the fuse had wiggle room and wasn't contacting properly. Glad I figured it out before I went to the stealership and had them replace my ECM and everything else...

Just had the extra same problem. Figured I'd post to let everyone know this is helpful.

Thanks!
